Project Goals

Cras justo odio, dapibus ac facilisis in, egestas eget quam. Duis mollis, est non commodo luctus, nisi erat porttitor ligula, eget lacinia odio sem nec elit.

In 2012, a group of designers, including Tom Watson, Wilson Miner and Jorn van Dijk, saw the need to align Facebook's products around common typography, colors, grids, components and glyphs. Their skunkworks project came to be known as FIG — Facebook Interface Guidelines.

After the original FIG team left Facebook, Julie Zhuo, myself and a few others formed a guild, where we worked part-time maintaining, evolving, and encouraging adoption of our system as the design team grew from 50 to 300.

Over my two years I contributed multiple components, completely updated our email system, and proposed numerous vision pieces for a unified and consistent design language.
